i was told it was ok to doubt but not to think about it too much and wait on jehovah.
that bull shit lasted until they changed the meaning of generation in 95 and that was the end of that bull shit for me.
The other day an elderly lady told me the end was so close that she was sure she would live through it. I just smiled and said "hmmm...." while walking away. Felt sorry for her and these other really old people, remember this is FL, in the cong who claim they will live to see Armageddon.
So far, I have attended 4 funerals in the past 5 years of those who thought for sure would live long enough to see the end.

i'm a postman with the royal mail and was assigned to train a new starter yesterday.
my line manager introduces me to 'dave', within seconds my jw radar was on maximum!
in his mid to late 30's, politely spoken and with that haircut - i just knew it.. the post he'd applied for was saturdays only, he said he did a lot of volunteer work.
There are a lot of very nice people inside.
The key to a good work friendship is to keep religion and politics out.

I have watched it a few times and cannot understand what is the big deal. How else, in a more tactful, loving way can JW parents communicate to their small kids their beliefs?

i want to spare you a long post about my background.
because this topic is about something else.a small information is that i knew ttatt before i got married.
but then i somehow pushed it back for quite some time because i didnt want to change my life and it was convenient to instantly meet new people when you move into a new city.couple of years into my marriage and seeing all the changes in the jw my thirst for ttatt resurfaced.
Waking up is such a personal thing. I do not want to wake up anyone; let each find their way through life.

the religoios lessons themselfs are not missed, they were actually quite dull, and i realize i learnt nothing of value from them.
instead a quite evening at home playing with my boy is more endearing.. yes my life has moved on, i occassionaly see members of my former congregation in shopping centers, or they are putting the kids in to the back of the car and inside i believe most of them have bottled it, they prefer the comfort to the " truth" who am i to expose the can of worms.. many of course can blame parents or grandparents for having grown up as outcasts in school and i hope if they do leave like me they hold no resentment.
indoctrination is a terrible thing, and even false prophecy, royal commissions, and proof that many of the elders in the congregation are complete and utter shits won't change them.
